Google CEO Hints at Possible Gemini Integration with iPhone by Late 2025

Google Nearing Deal with Apple to Integrate Gemini AI into iPhone by Late 2025

Google is reportedly on the verge of finalizing a deal with Apple to bring its advanced Gemini AI technology to the iPhone. During Wednesday’s proceedings in the U.S. antitrust trial focused on Google’s search engine practices, Google CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed that the company expects to reach a formal agreement with Apple by mid-2025, with full implementation planned by the end of that year.

According to The Verge, the integration would enable iPhone users to access Gemini through Siri, allowing Apple’s voice assistant to handle more complex queries — similar to how ChatGPT is currently being tested in Siri environments.

This development aligns with past comments from Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, who indicated in 2023 that Gemini could eventually become part of Apple Intelligence, the company’s evolving suite of AI-powered features.

With Sundar Pichai now publicly acknowledging the discussions, the likelihood of a collaborative AI future between Google and Apple appears stronger than ever.

Google CEO Confirms Talks with Apple About Integrating Gemini AI into Apple Devices

During Google’s ongoing antitrust trial, a Department of Justice attorney raised the topic of integrating Gemini AI into Apple devices. In response, Google CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed the plans, revealing that he had met with Apple CEO Tim Cook to discuss the future of artificial intelligence and Google’s roadmap.

Pichai noted that Cook was interested in understanding Google’s approach to AI development, and during their meeting, the two also discussed the potential integration of Gemini AI into the iPhone. According to Pichai, Cook indicated that Apple plans to incorporate more third-party AI models into Apple Intelligence by late 2025.

Speaking in court, Pichai expressed his hope that Google and Apple would reach an agreement by mid-2025 to bring Gemini into Apple’s AI ecosystem. He highlighted that, currently, Apple Intelligence and Siri operate offline, and aren’t as capable as some competitors. However, with Gemini’s robust features, users could expect a significantly enhanced AI experience on Apple devices.

Apple is likely to utilize the Gemini Nano model, which is optimized for mobile use, while the more advanced Gemini Ultra model could be implemented on macOS platforms.

If Pichai’s statements hold true and the two companies finalize a deal, Apple Intelligence powered by Gemini could be introduced as early as September 2025. This would likely follow an announcement during Apple’s WWDC event in June 2025, with full integration possibly arriving alongside the launch of the iPhone 17 series in the fall.
