Google is bringing Circle to Search to the Gemini overlay

Google Continues Merging Image Search Tools as Circle to Search Begins Integrating with Gemini

arch tools have increasingly begun to overlap in functionality. Circle to Search (CtS) can already perform many of the same tasks as Google Lens, and the opposite is also true — both tools cover a wide range of identical use cases.

Adding to that, Gemini Live’s video mode brings yet another layer of capability. It can analyze what your phone’s camera sees in real time while also interpreting on-screen content, essentially combining the strengths of both Google Lens and CtS into a single, more advanced experience.

Back in May, Google was seen experimenting with the idea of merging Circle to Search features into the Gemini overlay (not Gemini Live). Now, it appears that this integration is beginning to roll out.

According to X user HHUUEELL, who first shared the discovery (via Android Authority), the new integration is already accessible on their Samsung device. This update suggests Google is steadily working toward unifying all of its visual search and AI interaction tools to deliver a more seamless experience.
