Intel Unison was a useful tool for Android and iOS users who wanted a seamless connection to their Windows PCs—offering file sharing, message syncing, and more. But now, Intel is shutting the app down, leaving many without a strong cross-platform alternative.
While Unison wasn’t the only app of its kind, it stood out by supporting both Android and iOS. Microsoft’s built-in Phone Link for Windows 11 covers similar ground but is Android-focused and lacks broader iOS integration due to platform limitations.
According to Neowin, Intel Unison will officially stop working after June 2025, and the shutdown process is already underway. Users across the Microsoft Store, Google Play, and Apple’s App Store are now seeing notices that the app will cease functioning by the end of June. The only exception appears to be Lenovo Aura devices, which will retain access through the rest of 2025.
A pop-up within the app also confirms the wind-down, as first reported by Windows Latest.
For now, Android users on Windows 11 can still use Microsoft’s Phone Link to manage notifications and some phone features from their desktop. While it’s not as robust as Unison, it remains one of the few free options that work with most Windows 11 setups.
Intel hasn’t announced a replacement for Unison, nor has it offered any official reason for ending the service.
