Valorant Mobile to Launch First in China, Riot Confirms

Riot Games has announced that the mobile version of its popular first-person shooter Valorant will be released first in China. According to Esports Insider, registration for the game’s closed beta is now open to Chinese users.

Riot originally revealed plans for a mobile adaptation of Valorant back in 2021. The game, which launched as a PC exclusive, expanded to consoles last summer, becoming available on both Sony and Microsoft platforms.

The mobile version is being developed by LightSpeed Studios, a Tencent-owned developer based in China. While a global release date has not yet been announced, China’s beta marks a major step forward in bringing the franchise to mobile players.

Valorant Mobile was previously tested in a limited capacity in China, and players who join the current beta phase will be able to earn exclusive in-game cards by completing missions.

The mobile launch follows a growing trend of major shooters making the leap to smartphones, including Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG Mobile. Notably, LightSpeed Studios was also behind the mobile version of PUBG, further strengthening its role in adapting top-tier FPS games for mobile platforms.
